Beating Physical Disability To Enjoy Video Games
SpecialEffect puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games. This charity brings people together, makes space for social interaction and creates a community for everyone to feel welcome. By using technology ranging from modified joypads to eye-control, SpecialEffect finds a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities and experience an unbelievable amount of fun and joy.But they’re not just doing it for fun. By leveling the playing field, they’re bringing families and friends together and having a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence, and rehabilitation. By giving people the means to participate, they’re kick-starting rehabilitation, self-esteem and, most importantly, inclusion.
SpecialEffect uses technology to enhance the quality of life of people with all kinds of needs, including stroke and road traffic accident patients, individuals with life-limiting conditions and injured soldiers returning from overseas. Twin Town Challenge 2016 aims to raise £250,000 for SpecialEffect. You can help by entering a team or just by donating. Thank you.
